Learning and sharing are two of the most important attributes that have helped John in his long journey in the Rotating Machinery Condition Monitoring business. John, who is a Category IV Vibration Analyst, has covered a wide range of roles ranging from Field Service Engineer to Machinery Diagnostic Specialist. Teaching seminars in the field of Machinery Diagnostics has allowed him to both share with-, and gain knowledge from others. While he has been in the business for 45+ years, he maintains that in this field, you cannot know it all and is always interested in experiences from others.
Early on in his career, the focus was on protection and diagnostics of High-Speed Critical Machines in the Oil, Gas, Power Generation and Petro-Chemical industries. In more recent years, changes in economic conditions and technology have widened the market for condition monitoring solutions considerably.
John regularly presents papers at conferences on subjects where he shares his personal experiences, and his practical approach is widely appreciated in the world of rotating equipment engineers.
He currently holds a position as General Manager Sales & Service ASEAN and Oceania for Brüel & Kjær Vibro and is based in Singapore.
