Bachelor Science in Mechanical Engineering graduate from Mapua Institute of Technology from 1976 – 1980 (4.5 yrs). Registered Mechanical Engineer in 1982 and Professional Mechanical Engineer in 1995 and completed post graduate with 45 units in Management Technology.
Thirty-seven (37) years of experience in the field of Power Plant Operation and Maintenance. These include actual experience in developing strategies and programs on how to improve plant efficiency and reliability; machinery diagnostics, turbo-machinery overhauls, alignment and balancing of machinery components. Likewise, managed the development of computerized maintenance and subsequently, maintenance information system, such as Mincom Information Management System. Attended and applied Reliability Centered Maintenance [RCM] and Condition Based Maintenance.
Headed the Start-up Team for the successful testing of Plant C Unit 5 and Unit 6, which demonstrated a full capacity of 55 MW each. Oversight-head of Binary Plant Rehabilitation with a rated capacity of 6 MW.
Conceptualized the following and after development used by APRI in Makban and Tiwi Geo Plants:
• Plant Monitoring System (POMS) to store all operating parameters;
• Plant Confidence Level System to determine level of reliability of plant
• Cadetship Program of APRI to prepare and motivate new graduates to become better plant personnel.
• Plant Efficiency Monitoring System to determine real time efficiency of the turbine.
Corporate Awardee, 1994 for “Innovation on Left Hand Main Steam Valve”, wherein the corporate saved millions of pesos from modification as an alternative for the replacement of parts. Mentor of several “Inyovation and Quick Win Projects”
Part time faculty member of College of Technology – First Asia Institute of Technology and Humanities. Teaching Thermodynamics and Strength of Materials
APRI Training Consultant on Operations and Maintenance to develop and mentor new cadet engineers and regular employees.
