Henry V. Alcalde is a seasoned professional with a long and distinguished career in the Philippine power sector. His expertise spans power plant operations and maintenance, project management, and strategic business development. Alcalde holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Central Philippine University (1977) and attended Master in Business Administration from Ateneo de Manila University, Ateneo Graduate School of Business.

He possesses thorough knowledge of coal power plant operations and maintenance, having served as Manager of BCFTPP for 18 years and overseeing CFB operations for 6 years. His foundational understanding of plant systems stems from his 8-year tenure as an Instrumentation and Control Engineer for BCFTPP.
Throughout his career, Alcalde has frequently been designated as Chairman or a member of various task forces focused on plant upgrading and reliability projects. He has experience dealing with service providers for annual plant rehabilitation, maintenance, and unit upgrades, and has been responsible for deciding on the procurement of generic spare parts and equipment
