Technical Speaker at the 2nd Philippine Power Expo
Topic: AVEVA Unified Operations Center for Power Industries

Engr. Jorge M. Amon, a licensed Mechanical Engineer, stands as a cornerstone in industrial automation and engineering education in the Philippines. As the Chief Executive Officer of Cybermech Solutions Co., Amon has been a pivotal figure in delivering cutting-edge automation, instrumentation, and control solutions since 2006. His expertise spans marine electro-automation, crane maintenance, and energy optimization, making him a sought-after consultant and educator.
With a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Technological Institute of the Philippines (1993) and a candidate toward a Master’s in Engineering, Amon’s career is marked by versatility. Since 2006, he has served as a Training Consultant at Wartsila Land and Sea Academy in Subic, Zambales, equipping engineers with skills in marine automation, electrical controls, and instrumentation. His consultancy extends to Jumbo Shipping Manila and includes advanced training in Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), SCADA, and HMI systems.
Amon’s project experience includes a stint as Project Consultant/Engineer at James Hardie Phils, Inc. (2003–2004), where he managed machinery installation and modifications. From 1996–1998, as Technical Engineer/Lecturer at Inter-Coastal Bosch Rexroth Automation Technologies, he designed automation improvements using hydraulics, pneumatics, and PLC systems while conducting in-plant training. As an educator, Amon has shaped future engineers since 1994, teaching at institutions like Colegio de San Juan de Letran (2004–present), Technological Institute of the Philippines, and Asian Institute of Maritime Studies, specializing in thermodynamics, power plant engineering, pneumatics, hydraulics, and instrumentation.
His technical prowess includes designing and troubleshooting fluid power circuits, programming PLCs (Siemens, Omron, Allen Bradley), and proficiency in AutoCAD 3D modeling and SCADA programming. Amon’s training credentials include courses in Pneumatics (SMC, 1993), Electro-Pneumatics (Bosch, 1996), PLCs (Siemens, 1997), and Advanced Hydraulics (Bosch, Singapore, 1997).
Amon’s accolades reflect his excellence: he was a Lecturer at the 1997 Institute of Electronics and Communication Engineers’ Seminar on Programmable Controllers in Cagayan de Oro, a Quiz Champion at the 1993 PSME National Student Quiz Contest, and a recipient of academic scholarships, including the Msgr. Nico P. Bautista Scholarship (1986) and Gumaca Jaycees Scholar Award (1982). A former Math Quiz Champion and Honor Student, Amon continues to inspire as a leader in automation and education.
