
Engr. Isshi B. Buhay has quickly established herself as a formidable force in the field of mechanical engineering, blending technical expertise with exceptional leadership skills. A graduate of De La Salle University-Dasmariñas (DLSU-D), Isshi earned her Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering with a specialization in Mechatronics Engineering, laying a strong foundation for her career in a highly technical and innovative field.
Her professional journey took a significant leap forward in February 2025 when she passed the Mechanical Engineering Licensure Examination (MELEE), officially becoming a Registered Mechanical Engineer. Since then, Isshi has been working as a Mechanical Engineer at SY3 Energy, a company specializing in power plant repair and maintenance services. Her role at SY3 Energy allows her to apply her expertise in mechatronics to ensure the reliability and efficiency of critical energy infrastructure, contributing to sustainable energy solutions.
Beyond her technical career, Isshi has demonstrated remarkable leadership within the Junior Philippine Society of Mechanical Engineers (JPSME). Her involvement with JPSME began during her university years at DLSU-D, where she served as the Director for Finance in 2021. Her dedication and organizational skills led to her election as President and Chairwoman of the JPSME DLSU-D chapter in 2022. That same year, she represented DLSU-D in both the JPSME Cavite Chapter (JPSME CC) and the CALABARZON United Cluster (JPSME CUC), showcasing her ability to connect and collaborate across regional chapters.
Isshi’s leadership trajectory continued to rise in 2023 when she took on the role of Executive Secretary for JPSME National, specifically within the JPSME CALABARZON region. She also served as Vice President for External Affairs of the JPSME-South Luzon Cluster in both 2023 and 2024, a position that highlighted her skills in fostering partnerships and driving initiatives for the organization. In 2024, she was appointed Vice President for Luzon of JPSME National, further expanding her influence and responsibilities within the society.
As of 2025, Isshi has reached another milestone in her career by becoming the JPSME Council Chairwoman of the Project Management Technical Division. In this role, she oversees the planning and execution of technical projects, ensuring they align with the organization’s goals while mentoring the next generation of mechanical engineers.
